The museum is located in a former medieval monastery with many stairs, up and downs. We are happy to help you make your visit as pleasant as possible.
What is allowed in the museum?
We want everyone to treat each other, the building and the exhibitions properly. Therefore, we have listed the most important house rules below.
Photography
You are allowed to take photographs and video recordings for private use. If you have other requests, please contact us.
A cup of coffee or a tasty lunch?
Do you want to share your impressions of our collection with friends or family during your visit? Or are you ready for a moment of reflection? Café Blauw, our cosy museum café, is the perfect place for it. The café is open during museum opening times. You are also very welcome without a ticket to the museum. Enjoy your coffee or lunch inside, or if the weather is nice, outside on our terrace in the the historic Prinsenhof Courtyard.
Looking for a special gift?
At our museum shop, you will find many items especially selected to reflect our collection, unavailable at other shops. Like exceptional books, exclusive art socks and ceramic cups made from Delft clay. These will make a fine memento of your visit, or a wonderful gift for someone else. The shop is open during museum opening times. You are also welcome to come and shop here, without a ticket to the museum.
Visit the nicest shop in Delft
For those with a sweet tooth, there is Winkeltje Kouwenhoven – the nicest and oldest sweet shop in the city – and part of the Museum Prinsenhof Delft. You will find traditional Dutch sweets here: ‘peppermint pillows’, cinnamon sticks, ‘butter waffles’ and magic gobstoppers – and nostalgic toys, classic picture postcards and old-fashioned oil lamps, too. Of course, you are also welcome to visit the shop simply to soak up the atmosphere of earlier days. The shop is open from 12.00 to 16.00 on days when the museum is open.

On a guided tour, you will learn about the museum’s extraordinary and surprising stories. The Museum Prinsenhof Delft offers several different guided tours, of one exhibition or of the highlights of our collection; as an introduction or in depth. In the company of friends, colleagues or your family, get better acquainted with the largest Delft collection and view the objects from a new perspective.

Public transport
There is a bus and tram stop 'Prinsenhof' at 2,5 minute walking distance from the museum. The following buses and trams stop there:
- bus 53 | Station Delft–Station Rijswijk (Departures only in the morning and afternoon and has space for approximately 8 people)
- tram 1 | Delft Tanthof–Scheveningen Noord
- tram 19 | Station Delft–Leidschendam
By car
A large part of Delft's city centre is not accessable for cars.
There are two parking garages a 3-minute walk away. Cars can park here 24/7.

You can. Without a ticket to the museum, you are welcome for a cup of coffee or lunch in our café.
- Go to the ticket page
- Select your type of ticket(s), then a date and then a time slot.
- Enter your details and choose a method of payment.
- Following payment, the tickets will be sent to your email address in PDF format. It may take several minutes before you receive your tickets by email. If you have not received the tickets after some time, check to see if the payment has been deducted from your account and if the tickets have not been placed in your spam folder by mistake.
- Read your ticket carefully prior to your visit. It contains important information with respect to your visit and the measures we have taken regarding the coronavirus in order to make your visit as pleasant as possible.
- Check our website prior to your visit for the latest on the measures we have taken at the museum. Here, you will also find information about getting to the museum.
- Print your tickets and bring them with you to the museum or show them on your smartphone.
- Always bring your reduced price pass, if any, with you. You will be asked to show it when your ticket is scanned.
- If you have not received your ticket within 2 hours of payment, please send an email to info-prinsenhof@delft.nl.
You can pay with iDEAL or a credit card.
There are a number of possible reasons for this:
- First, check to see if the tickets have been placed in your spam folder by mistake.
- There may be a typo, for example in your email address.
- A problem with your server might cause a delay. Check your email again later. Otherwise, contact us at info-prinsenhof@delft.nl or call +31 (0)15 260 23 58.
There might be several reasons why you have been unable to order a ticket online. Check your internet connection and refresh the web page. You might also try again using a different web browser. Sometimes it helps to restart your computer.
No, it is not possible to order tickets by phone.
Yes, you can buy a Museum Card at the ticket counter; it will immediately give your free admission. It is, however, necessary to get a (free) ticket to the museum online, ahead of time. To buy a Museum Card online, please visit the Museumkaart website.
We ask you, when possible, not to bring your coat and bag into the museum. If your coat is dry, you can wear it during your visit to the museum. You cannot bring bags larger than 40x30x15 cm (HxWxD) and wet coats into the museum. These can be left at the cloakroom or stored free of charge in a locker.

Museum Prinsenhof Delft is housed in a former medieval monastery. There is no lift anywhere in the museum complex and there are many stairs, and steps up and down. If you use a wheelchair, mobility scooter or baby stroller, the museum unfortunately is not (yet) accessible. Soon the museum will renovate and become accessible to all.
If you use a wheelchair, walker or other aid, you can use it to sit down on or for help walking. We are happy to help you lift the wheelchair or walker up and down the stairs with you. Feel free to ask our staff for help.
Unfortunately, you are not allowed to bring a pram or stroller into the museum. During your visit, you can leave it in the entrance hall of the museum.
You are allowed to take pictures for private use without using lights, flash devices and tripods. If you want to take pictures or video recordings for commercial use, please send a request to press-prinsenhof@delft.nl.
We would appreciate advance notice of your visit at press-prinsenhof@delft.nl. A colleague from the marketing and communications department will evaluate your request and if possible and advisable, be your guide at the museum. After your visit, we would also appreciate receiving a hardcopy of your press item (if relevant).
